Steven Davis, the creator of Dice Holdem, has been an avid game player and student of games since the 1970's. In fact, he has specialized in creating methods to secure online games, and speaks and consults in the USA and internationally from 2000 - 2008 at E3, Game Developer's Conference, and other leading conferences. Though this is his first published game, he has been designing games for himself for many years. He has a accumulated a fairly massive collection of board games, role-playing games, family games, card games, many obscure games, and a fairly extensive library of books on games.  He is active participant in online game designer forums, particularly in the computer game industry.

Since making games is not something your mother would approve of, Steven found himself in the computer security field long before it was fashionable. Here, he basically was paid to design games (build systems) resistant against cheaters (hackers and worse). Starting in the late 1990's he and his business partner, Cheryl Campbell, combined the two interests resulting in their SecurePlay game security software, that works with Flash, C++ and console-based games. Now, they are returning to their roots with Dice Holdem and, hopefully, a number of other innovative computer and traditional game titles.
